At first glance, I thought this bath bomb looked almost creepy, with the eyeless sockets of Santa staring up at me as I entered the shop. However, the sweet, citrusy smell drew me in immediately and I purchased one knowing little else about the product.
With a shot of brandy to give it that festive appeal, and a light scent of both vanilla and mandarin, this bath bomb is a treat for all those wanting to find solace in a hot bath at the end of a long day.
The second I popped this into the water, it began to work it's magic. The bath bomb immediately began to fizz, churning out a beautiful red and green froth that quickly spread and turned the water into a beautiful, lime green. This was coupled with a thin layer of red glitter that ebbed throughout the bath water and added that extra special touch. What I loved about the effect it created in the water, was that it was rather unexpected. From the outside, this pale pink and white ballistic doesn't look all that special, so to get this effect in the water was an added bonus. Very Christmassy indeed!
The bath bomb is a sweet but sensual product that leaves your skin feeling super soft and invigorated. Although it doesn't produce any bubbles, the orange oil leaves your skin soft and fragrant. This is one of those ballistics that actually does leave your skin smoother and more hydrated when you exit the bath. Furthermore, the beautiful uplifting fragrance stays with you throughout your entire experience so you can indulge for as long as you want.
The only downside to this bomb is that you may leave the bath with traces of red glitter all over your body. This didn't bother me at all but I suggest those of you that would rather not 'sparkle like a Twilight vampire', should skim the floating glitter away before getting in.
Overall, I consider Father Christmas to be one of the most underrated bath bombs that Lush offer. Most people I've spoken to will rave about many of the other seasonal products, but will admit to having not tried this due to it's lack of appeal from the outside. However, I would consider this to be one of my favourite all-time bath bombs and will try to stock up next year so they can keep my company across the year.
